Alpha Women's Center entered mobile ministry in 2013 with a goal to be a present source of help to women contemplating an abortion decision. Through medically excellent and spiritually guided care, our staff has served hundreds of clients and saved dozens of babies using the on-board ultrasound to show women the truth of the humanity of their unborn children.
As the abortion landscape continues to change, Alpha Women's Center is on the forefront of combatting new challenges and assaults on life. The rise of the use of the "abortion pill", along with the removal of restrictions on the pill's distribution, has created an opportunity for abortion providers to target women in rural areas and on college campuses with mobile units dispensing abortion pills.
This demands a life-affirming response, and Alpha Women's Center is best positioned to launch an additional mobile unit to combat these providers. Alpha Women's Center plans to purchase a used Sprinter Van and use it to serve at downtown abortion clinics, on college campuses, and in rural locations targeted by abortionists. These locations are difficult to serve with our current larger unit, which requires more space for navigation, as well as a volunteer driver. These obstacles would be reduced with a smaller unit.
